Base Camp – Specimen Summative Project Brief

 Base Camp Dollar

You must produce a design for one side of a currency note, the Base Camp Dollar, which will be used inside the camp instead of real money. Although the design will be shown in the eportfolio and does not need to be high-resolution, you should research the requirements for high-quality printed artwork.

Look at some paper money.  Measure different notes and decide on a good size for the new dollar note. Have a look at what is printed on the front and back of a note, and what sort of background is used. Make a list of elements you need to include.

Show your final artwork for the dollar note. Explain the different elements that make up your note, and why you have used each of them.

Explain what you would need to do if your design was to be printed in colour for its intended purpose.

Show your note to your reviewers and make a note of their feedback.
