Financial Analysis Based on the pricing research conducted on the Internet and the responses to the questionnaires, the following spreadsheet was produced. We decided to do a budget for three school terms beginning in January. To start off with we needed to buy some flash drives, optical mice and screen wipes. We found that we could get flash drives much cheaper if we bought them in quantity via the Internet. The most significant factors in making a profit were the number of healthchecks we carried out per term and the price we charged for these. The second most important factor was the number of flash drives sold per term and the price of these. We experimented with different numbers to find the break-even point. The spreadsheet analysis indicated that we needed a startup loan of £1000 to stand the best chance of making a profit over the year. If we do 12 healthchecks per term at £10 each and sell 50-60 flash drives per term (more at Christmas) we will make a projected profit of £900 after paying back the loan.
The spreadsheet formulae are shown below.
(You should also include any graphs you have produced showing your break-even analysis.) |
